The callous and irresponsible face of Congress was revealed once again when a band of party workers led by State Congress president, Adhir Chowdhury shouted slogans protesting against the incident as it affected the rescue work.

Despite of the Chief Minister’s appeal to the Opposition party leaders not to politicise the incident especially at the time when a rescue operations were going on at a full swing, the Congress activists headed by Chowdhury shouted political slogans. This had affected the rescue operations. The local people who took part in the rescue operations were surprised to see the insensible behaviour of such a senior political leader. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was supervising the entire rescue operations at the crossing of Rabindra Sarani and Vivekananda Road on Thursday afternoon when Chowdhury along with his party men reached the spot. They were raising political slogans at the place of incident. The Congress supporters marched down the Rabindra Sarani few yards before the Police stopped their way. The local people also urged them to stop shouting political slogans at the time of grave crisis.
