Denied job, driver kills woman

A woman, who used to work as a manager at a private company in Greater Noida, was allegedly strangulated to death by her driver after she refused to keep him on <g data-gr-id="25">job</g> on Saturday night. The accused driver identified as Sandeep, a resident of Dadri in Greater Noida, was arrested on Sunday, police said. 

Police said victim Archana Singh was found dead with blood and froth oozing out of her mouth and nose in her rented accommodation at Sector-34, Noida, late Saturday night. She was a native of Nagpur in Maharashtra, police said.

According to the police, Sandeep has admitted to the crime. The police have recovered Singh’s laptop and mobile phone from Sandeep’s possession, which were missing from her flat.  SP (city), Dinesh Yadav said Singh had hired Sandeep as her driver, but later fired him as he was irregular on duty. “On Saturday, Sandeep reached her flat around 7.30 pm and asked her to pay his dues. He also requested Singh to keep him on <g data-gr-id="24">job</g> again. When she refused, he strangulated her. Sandeep also decamped with her laptop and mobile phone to make for his loss. Sandeep has been arrested and we are and him,” he said.

According to the police, the incident came into light late Saturday night, when Singh’s uncle AK Mall, who had come from Nagpur, reached on her flat and found her lying unconscious on the floor. He informed the apartment’s guards and then the police. A police team reached on the spot and took her to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.
