A 20-year-old boy from Jhajjar village in Gurgaon died due to a rare concurrent of both dengue and malaria on Tuesday night. During his early conditions with high fever, he was first admitted to a government hospital in Basai village. Two weeks later, on October 16, when his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to a private hospital in Palam Vihar. After diagnosing his condition, the reports revealed that he was diagnosed with both malaria and dengue.

“When the patient was brought to the hospital, his condition was critical and his blood pressure, low. We admitted him in the ICU on the first day. Later, as his condition deteriorated, we had to put him on ventilator. We made all efforts to save him, but he passed away due to multiple organ failure,” said a spokesperson of the hospital.

According to the doctors, poor sanitation conditions in the city can be held responsible for such a deadly combination of infection. Patients with poor immunity makes them more vulnerable to such combination of diseases, which prove fatal.
