Youth stabbed to death over drinking water

NEW DELHI: A 20-year-old man was brutally murdered with a knife in Wazirpur area of Bharat Nagar. Police said that the accused and the deceased were friends. The accused got into an argument with the deceased identified as Sagar, a resident of Jahangirpuri. He was hit multiple times on his neck and died of bleeding.

Sagar was recently married and had come to meet his uncle in the area with his wife. It was then he met his old friends Gaurav and Kunal. The trio started talking outside the house and sat on the pavement. Later, one of them fetched a bottle of water. "It was then that they got into an altercation when Sagar objected to the way the accused was drinking water. This infuriated the accused and soon the altercation turned physical. This is when the accused brought a knife and stabbed Sagar multiple times in a fit of rage," said a senior police officer.

With multiple stab wounds, Sagar fell on the ground and the accused fled the spot. Locals at the spot alerted the police. The cops soon reached the spot. Sagar was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.
