Youth killed in accident on Lajpat Nagar flyover

New Delhi: A 25-year-old man was killed at Lajpat Nagar flyover when his bike was hit by an unidentified vehicle on Tuesday night.
Police said the deceased was identified as Hifzur Rehman, an executive working with Muthoot Finance. Rehman had lost his parents four years ago and was the sole bread winner of the family.
The accident occurred around 7 pm on Tuesday, when Rehman was returning home from office. His bike was allegedly hit by a truck at the flyover from Moolchand to Ashram.
An eyewitness, who called the cops, said the accident happened at Lajpat Nagar flyover and he stopped an ambulance passing by and rushed the injured to the hospital. However, Rehman was declared brought dead at the hospital.
When the police team reached the spot they found a cement brick on the flyover.
"His parents died four years ago in Madhubani, Bihar. He is now survived by his brother and two sisters. He completed his BBA from a private university and had earlier worked with HDFC as well," said Mohd Inran, Rehman's friend.
"We have registered a case under section 279 and 304A and are investigating. We are trying to find which vehicle hit the bike which resulted in the fatal accident," said a senior police officer.
