Youth commits suicide after shooting girlfriend in Noida

Noida: A 22-year-old youth committed suicide by hanging himself with the ceiling fan, after shooting his girlfriend, inside a room of a guest house in sector 63 area, under Phase-3 police station jurisdiction of Noida on Thursday. Police said that the incident took place in a room of the Terenne Empire Guest house. According to police, the incident took place after a heated argument broke out between Mohit, a native of Bulandshahr and his girlfriend, Neha, a resident of Ghaziabad. Police said that the girl has been admitted at a hospital in Delhi.

As per hotel staffers, they responded to the girl after they heard her shouting for help.

"Following her cries for help, the staff member broke open the door and found the boy hanging with the ceiling fan of the room while the girl had locked herself inside the washroom. She was bleeding profusely from her chest and was nearly unconscious," said a hotel staffer.

Police officials said that the boy lived at a rented accommodation in Ghaziabad while both of them were known to each other from past few months.

"The couple were studying in KD Campus institute in Ghaziabad and were preparing for government services. The couple came to the guest house at around 10 am on Thursday and booked a room on the second floor," said Rajiv Kumar Singh, Circle Officer-II, Noida.

Police have recovered a pistol and few cases of live cartridges from the room.

"Preliminary investigations revealed that it was a pre-planned attempt as the boy had come to meet the girl with a pistol. He allegedly shoot his girlfriend and then hanged self. The boy's body has been sent for the postmortem while the girl is admitted to a hospital in Delhi and doctors have stated her condition to be critical," added Singh.

Meanwhile girl's family members said that they do not know any boy named Mohit to be in contact with their daughter.
