YEIDA opens technical bids for Jewar airport project, 4 companies shortlisted

Greater Noida: The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), on Wednesday evening, opened technical bids submitted by the four companies who were short listed for the development of Jewar International Airport. YEIDA officials have announced the names of these four eligible companies and said that the concessionaire for the airport project will be finalised once the financial bid will be opened on November 29.

Among the 20 consortiums who submitted bids for the development of airport project the authority short listed four companies which include a foreign and three Indian companies.

"Four companies have qualified both the technical and financial mandatory requirements for the Jewar Greenfield airport project. The technical bids have been opened while the evaluation is under process. Those who qualify after the technical evaluation process would be eligible to participate in the final bidding process which is scheduled on November 29," said Shailendra Bhatia, nodal officer, Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL), an agency formed by the UP government for managing the mega airport project in Gautam Buddh Nagar district.

The four companies short listed by the authority include Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), Zurich Airport International AG, Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL) and Anchorage Infrastructure Investments Holdings Limited (AIIHL).

"Officials of all these four companies participated in the technical bid opening process and we have addressed all their issues. The Technical Evaluation is in under process and once we are done will the financial evaluation process, the best bidder will be finalised for the International Airport project," added Bhatia. As per YEIDA officials, said the work on the airport project is expected to begin by 2020 and the first phase is likely to be completed by 2023.

Around 1, 334 hectares land will be developed for the first phase construction of Jewar international project.

By far, the Gautam Buddh Nagar administration has given possession of nearly 84 percent of the total 1, 239 hectares of the land while the remaining portion of land will be provided by the Uttar Pradesh government.
