Workshop on rights of differently-abled people

New Delhi: The Delhi Division of Northern Railways recently organised a workshop on the Rights of Differently Abled Persons at the Railway Officers Club here in the Capital, where more than 200 special PWD staff and officials participated. Speakers at the workshop talked about policies and procedures of the Railways and the Government of India, which benefitted participants to a large extent.

Additional General Manager of Northern Railways, Archana Joshi assured participants that more such seminars and camps are something that everyone can look forward to.

During the workshop, Joshi also released a compendium of policy booklet on the subject. Copies of the policy booklet were made available to all the participants and the session proved to be fruitful and worked as an enabler for capacity building of differently-abled staff.

The workshop also saw meritorious work certificates and cash awards of Rs 1000 each being given to 19 PWD staff and motorized wheelchairs, hearing aide, magic sticks, and crutches were also distributed to 23 PWD staff.
