Woman tries to commit suicide at Gurugram district court

Gurugram: Dramatic scenes were witnessed in Gurugram district courts on Wednesday after a woman tried to commit suicide inside the court premises by consuming poison. Presently being treated at a hospital, her condition is said to be critical.

Hailing from Palwal, the woman was involved in a case of divorce and had come to the session's court with her father. According to sources, she was deeply upset over the court proceedings and the difficulties it was causing to her family.

Meanwhile, the district police has begun the investigation to find out if there was any criminal angle in the incident. The shocking incident of attempt to suicide comes just days after a restaurateur committed suicide.

Cases of women taking the extreme step of ending their lives due to domestic strife are not a new phenomenon.
