Woman stabbed to death, accused on run

New Delhi: A woman, brutally stabbed to death and her husband, son battling for their life in a city hospital after their neighbour attacked them with a sharp object in West Delhi's Khyala area on Wednesday evening. Police claimed that the accused was absconding after the incident.

Police identified accused as Mohammad Azad, a resident of Khyala in West Delhi.

"Four days ago both the family had a fight over trivial issue related to the water bottle," police said.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Western Range) Madhup Tiwari told Millennium Post that when Sunita (deceased) was returning from somewhere carrying vegetables around 7.30 pm, the accused suddenly appeared and then, a heated argument took place between them.

"Later, it is being suspected that the Sunita told his son regarding the fight," said Joint CP Tiwari.

According to police, after Akash (deceased's son) came to know about the incident, he rushed to his neighbour Azad house and banged his door.

"An argument took place between them which led to a scuffle. Later, Akash's mother and father named Veeru reached the spot," police said.

It was claimed that the accused Azad stabbed Sunita, Veeru and Akash several times. After the incident, the accused fled the spot leaving victims lying on the pool of blood.

Police were informed and the victims rushed to the hospital where Sunita succumbed to her injuries.

"Veeru and his son Akash were critically injured and undergoing treatment," sources claimed.

Police claimed that the search is on for absconding Azad in the case.
