Woman, paramour held for murdering her minor daughter

NEW DELHI: A woman and her paramour allegedly murdered a six-year-old girl, after the liitle girl both the two in compromising position in Gazipur in East Delhi, police said on Thursday.
The girl was found with her slit throat on the terrace of her residence on early Thursday morning.
After her father found that she had gone missing, the father tried searching for her and subsequently filed a police complaint.
However, soon the girl's body was found in a pool of blood on the terrace.
Initially, police suspected that the neighbours had killed her and focused the probe on possible sexual assault angle.
Getting no clue on this front, the cops focussed their investigation on a man named Sudhir Yadav, who often frequented the area.
Soon, cops found the mother Munni Devi's behaviour to be suspicious, and questioned her.
"Munni Devi tried to dodge the investigators and was herself searching for her girl," said a police officer.
"The investigation led us to Yadav and soon we came to know that the mother was having an affair with the accused. Soon, we found out that since the girl saw both in compromising position, both of them murdered the girl. Both have been arrested," Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Omvir Singh told reporters on Thursday.
