Woman kills self two days after her boyfriend committed suicide

Greater Noida: A heartbroken young woman allegedly took the extreme step to end her life and hanged herself at her house, two days after her boyfriend killed him self as their families were against their marriage.

Amit, a native of Bulandshahr district, was into live-in relationship with Nisha (24). Amit worked at a private factory in the area and the couple lived at a rented house house in Surajpur area. As both belonged to different communities, the faced strong opposition from their families. Meanwhile, Amit's family had fixed his marriage with some other girl for which they called him to his hometown in Bulandshahr.

Cops said that Amit allegedly consumed poison in Karor area of Bulandshahr when he was returning from his home on Monday.

He also shot a video of him while consuming poison and shared the video with his family and his girlfriend. Somehow, Amit was taken to a private hospital in Greater Noida where he died while getting treatment.

Devastated over the death of his boyfriend, Nisha also hanged herself with the ceiling fan of her house in Surajpur area of Greater Noida on Wednesday night.

Police have also recovered a suicide note from the spot which stated that the woman was upset over her boyfriend's death.

"As the information was conveyed to us, a police team reached the spot and took the body into custody. The body was sent to the post mortem while further investigations into the case are underway" said Nishank Sharma, Circle Officer-I, Greater Noida.

Police said that the woman's death was an aftermath of her boyfriend's tragic crash.

"Preliminary investigations into the case showed that Nisha allegedly committed suicide after her boyfriend died as he consumed poison around two days ago. We not received any complaint into the matter yet" added Sharma.
