Woman killed over dowry

Greater Noida: A 28-year-old woman was allegedly found murdered at footpath near Ithera village roundabout in Bisrakh area of Greater Noida on late Sunday night. Police have registered a case against her in-laws under IPC sections of dowry death while her husband has been detained for questioning.

According to police, the deceased has been identified as Bharti Yadav, a native of Sarfabad village in sector 73 of Noida. She was married to Ravindra Yadav, a native of Itehra village in Bisrakh area of Greater Noida in 2013 and had two kids.

Victim's family members, in their complaint, told police that an unknown caller had informed that woman's in-laws have killed her by hanging and are going to dump her dead body. The family reacted to the information and upon reaching the spot they intercepted Ravindra who was dumping the dead body at the footpath on Itehra Chowk.

The complaint further read that her in-laws were allegedly harassing the deceased over Rs 5 lakh cash and a flat as dowry from quite some time.
