Woman jumps to death from 4th floor

NEW DELHI: A 55-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide on Thursday by jumping from the fourth floor of her residence in west Delhi's Dwarka.

At around 7 am, the deceased identified as Sunita, was found lying in a pool of blood by her neighbour who reported the incident to the police.

Sunita was shifted to Rockland hospital where she was declared brought dead. No suicide note was found.

One Ishwar Singh told investigators that while going for a morning walk he asked Sunita to accompany him but she refused.

"Sunita told Singh that she will walk on her terrace from where she later jumped to the adjacent plot," Deputy Commissioner of Police Anto Alphonse said.

Her husband, who was in Civil Defence, had gone for a morning walk and also asked the deceased to accompany him but she refused and told that she would walk on the roof.

Their 3 sons, 2 are married, were sleeping at the time of incident.

One person from neighbour saw her lying unconscious in the vacant plot and called the police.

Sunita was a diabetic patient and her relatives said she was in depression for some time due to her illness, he added.
