Woman injured during snatching bid: 2 arrested

New Delhi: With the arrest of two persons, Delhi Police on Sunday said that they have solved the case of snatching bid with a woman who was dragged by snatchers in West Delhi's Punjabi Bagh area. Police identified the accused as Rahman (22) and Ravi (22). They were arrested near Madipur Metro Station.

"Accused Ravi has been released on bail about 15-20 days back and after release on bail he committed theft of this motorcycle along with his associates for purpose of robbery and snatchings," police said.

According to police the accused choose early morning time to commit the offence as roads at this time are relatively clear and they could easily escape.

"Both the accused are addicted to liquor having no apparent source of earning and have made crime as their source of earning," police said.

Police further added that on September 27 in the early morning at 4:30 am a lady was standing near Madipur Metro Station on Rohtak Road, waiting for some public transport to go to Jhandewalan Mandir.

"In the meantime, three boys came riding on a motorcycle and tried to snatch her bag. In the ensuing scuffle, she fell on the road and suffered some minor bruises on her shoulder," police said. The culprits fled away while they could not take away the purse.

According to police on September 29 at about 4:15 am police team while on checking at picket Near Metro Station Madipur noticed two boys coming on a motorcycle from Punjabi bagh side, they were signalled to stop but they tried to escape and were chased by the police team. The bikers were overpowered after a brief chase.
