Woman falls to death from flyover: Doctor held

New Delhi: Delhi Police on Monday claimed that they have arrested one doctor involved in a road accident where a woman fell from flyover after being hit by his SUV in South East Delhi on Sunday.

Police claimed that the Creta Car was being driven by Dr Madhu Sudan Chaudhary (68). He was returning from his nursing home in West Vinod Nagar to his home when the incident took place. "He was retired from Indian Air Force in the year 2000. In the year 2014, he owned Manglam Hospital, West Vinod Nagar," police said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) Chinmoy Biswal claimed that on January 6, police team found a woman lying in the drain under Barapula flyover. She was sent to the hospital where the lady was declared brought dead.

"At the spot on Barapula flyover, a car and motorcycle was found in accidental condition. It came to know that Creta Car hit the motorcycle and due to the colliding impact, the lady riding pillion on the motorcycle fell down from flyover," said DCP Biswal.

The identity of motorcycle rider was established as Sunny and pillion rider was his wife Nisha (30).

They were coming from Trilok Puri after attending a marriage function. Sunny was also admitted to AIIMS trauma with an injury in head and

leg.

During the investigation, Dr Madhu Sudan Choudhary was arrested and released on bail being the bailable offence.
