Woman crushed to death by vehicle in Jewar while answering nature's call

Greater Noida: A 52-year old woman was crushed to death while another 50-year-old woman accompanying her got seriously injured after a speeding Mahindra pick-up van rammed against them while they had gone out for defecation to the field on early Tuesday morning.
The incident was reported from Kishorpur village in Jewar area of Greater Noida. The deceased has been identified as Kamlesh, while the other woman accompanied her has been identified as Ramadevi.
According to the complaint, Kamlesh went out to the fields around 4:30 am. While going to the field, her neighbour Ramadevi accompanied her. Both the women were waiting beside the road when the speeding vehicle rammed against them.
The victims were taken to a nearby private hospital where doctors declared Kamlesh as brought dead while Ramadevi suffered serious injuries.
Following the fatal incident, the locals and the family members blocked the Jewar-Jhanjhar road keeping the body of deceased on the road. They demanded support from the government and actions against the accused driver who fled from the spot after the incident.
"We have registered a case under sections 279, 337, 338 and 304 (A) of IPC against the accused. We are trying to identify and arrest the driver of the vehicle," said Rajpal Singh Tomar, Station House Officer, Jewar police station.
As per deceased's family members, they had no toilet at home while Ramadevi had one which she did not use thus accompanied her neighbour to the field.
"We had never thought that the lack of toilet at our home will lead to such an incident," said a family member.
Majority of houses in the village do not have toilets in their houses.
