Woman CMO accuses senior of sexual harassment

New Delhi: A woman Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital was allegedly sexually harassed by the hospital's medical superintendent inside the premises.
Police said that they were both working at a government hospital in north west Delhi.
Police have made no arrest in the case yet. The woman approached the police with a complaint on Friday and a case was registered.
Police has identified the accused medical superintendent (MS) as Dr Surendra Kumar. The woman C.M.O. who was posted at a senior level in the hospital was also the Chief Medical officer.
The incident came to light on Friday when the complainant approached the police and lodged a complaint against the MS.
According to the police, the Chief Medical Officer of the hospital in her complaint stated that the accused medical superintendent used to call her inside his room and used to get indulge in perverse conversation. He also used to touch her inappropriately.
The woman CMO further stated that she had warned the medical superintendent number of times of dire consequences and had allegedly told him not to continue with the misconduct. However, the doctor did not pay any heed to her warnings and continued with his perverse.
Determined to teach him a lesson, the complainant decided to videograph his act. Next time when he called her, the woman C.M.O. videographed him and later informed the police.
According to police after getting the complaint, they registered a case under appropriate sections of Indian Penal Code.
