Woman catches man who exposed himself in bus

New Delhi: For a woman, travelling in a route number 717 bus had a shock of her life after she had to go through a nightmarish incident when a 37-year-old man not only outraged her modesty but also exhibited his private parts in a moving bus in South Delhi's Mehrauli area. The victim claimed that she was caught the accused and informed the police about the whole incident. She claimed that no passenger came to her aid during the incident.

According to police on Wednesday night, a woman who lives in a South Delhi area, made a call of quarrel at Chatterpur bus stand at 9:07 pm. Immediately, local police reached the spot and enquired from the complainant, who gave a written complaint regarding an obscene act of exhibiting private parts and used criminal force by trying to catch her hand with an intent to outrage her modesty when she was travelling in a route no 717 bus which she had boarded from Kapashera. The person was caught on the bus and handed over to police.

The victim claimed that at the time of the incident, the bus was full of people but no one came for her help. But when she started beating him, one of the passengers came forward and asked her why she was beating him.

"I caught him on my own and later informed the police. The accused tried to escape but I did not let him do so," said the victim. She further added that one person came for her help but did not record police statement. The complainant further claimed that the accused boarded the bus from Mahipalpur and then stood near the victim's seat and started staring her.

"When I looked at him in anger, the accused unzipped his pant and shown his private part when I objected, he held her hand and also pushed her," said the woman in her complaint.

Police identified the accused as Mukesh Ranjan Kumar, a resident of Badarpur. He is working in an event management company at Rangpuri and boarded the same bus from Mahipalpur. He was drunk at the time incident.

A case under sections 354/509 IPC had been registered against the accused. He was arrested in the case and sent for medical examination. In February, a Delhi University student lodged a complaint against a man for allegedly molesting her on board a bus. The student, who recorded the incident on camera, accused the man sitting next to her of masturbating and repeatedly trying to touch her waist.
