Woman blames in-laws for alleged attack on her

New Delhi: More than two weeks after a woman who was along with her two children (daughter dead) were found with stab wounds at her house in South Delhi's Malviya Nagar, gave her statement to police.

Police claimed that she had alleged her in-laws and husband are responsible for this incident. However, the medical reports had revealed that the woman's wounds were "self-inflicted".

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Vijay Kumar said "The injured identified as Mohsina is discharged from hospital yesterday. She can't speak but write. We have taken her statement in a questionnaire formate."

He further claimed that they will further inquire her and also collected report but that is not conclusive. It will be sent to FSL experts. Now as per woman statements, they will interrogate her in-laws.

Police said that on Sunday when Mohsina's in-laws visited the hospital, there was an altercation between the two families.

However, the medical reports had revealed that the woman's wounds were "self-inflicted".

On November 17, the 25-year-old woman was found critically injured after an alleged suicide attempt, while her three-year-old daughter and 18-month-old son were found with severe stab wounds on their neck at their residence in south Delhi's Malviya Nagar.

Police said that while the daughter succumbed to her injuries, the son and the mother were receiving treatment.

The couple lives in the third floor of a building located in south Delhi's Hauz Rani area. A case under section 302 and 307 (of the Indian Penal Code) has been registered.
