Woman and her two accomplices arrested for killing live-in partner

New Delhi: A 25-year-old woman killed her live-in partner with the help of her two accomplices in the Lajpat Nagar area of South East Delhi.

Police have cited regular arguments between the woman-deceased as the reason behind the murder. All the accused in the case were arrested.

Police identified the accused as Anita (25), Bijay Chhetri (30) and Rajender Chhetri (30).

On September 10, the body of 28-year-old Nepalese man identified as Sunil was found from his rented accommodation in Lajpat Nagar-IV. Further investigation revealed that the accused woman was the live-in partner of the deceased.

Anita told police that on the night of September 9 she left for her friend's place at Greater Noida and returned the next day. On her arrival, she found that her partner was lying dead on the floor.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (south-east) Chinmoy Biswal said that the behaviour of Anita was suspicious and she was not able to give proper reply as to why she went to Greater Noida, on the night of the incident.

Further, there was a contradiction in her movement and was trying to mislead the police. Once, Anita was confronted with her actual movement, she broke down and confessed that her brother and relative had murdered the deceased. The other two accused were nabbed from West Bengal.

During interrogation, Bijay disclosed that his sister Anita was already married, but due to dispute with her husband, she left her and started living with the deceased Sunil. But from the past few days, there was a constant quarrel between Anita and Sunil.

Bijay further stated that at times her sister was even deprived of basic needs such as food by the deceased. Anita wanted to leave Sunil but he was not leaving her.

On the night of September 9 at about 10 pm, Bijay and Rajender came to the house of Sunil and stayed there for the night.

As per plan Anita left the house and went to her friend's house at Greater Noida. Before leaving, Anita handed over the chopping knife to Rajender. In the night at about 4 am, when Sunil was asleep, both Bijay and Rajender woke up and they killed him with the help of chopping knife.
