Woman alleges rape by Facebook friend

The woman reportedly told cops that she had been raped on multiple occasions by Tanuj Chowdhary, a resident of Ghaziabad. A case was registered and cops immediately apprehended the accused.

Sources said the woman had befriended the accused through Facebook in 2014 and soon they began meeting regularly.

The man earlier used to run a brick kiln in Ghaziabad and had made the girl made him join his office in Delhi. According to the complainant, the accused used to force himself upon her in the office.

Initially, he promised the woman that he would marry her, but soon got engaged to another woman. Subsequently, the woman approached cops.

"We have arrested the accused and sent him to judicial custody," said DCP New Delhi Brij Kishore Singh.
