Will win all seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi: Sheila Dikshit

NEW DELHI: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Sheila Dikshit asserted on Sunday that the party will win all seven parliamentary seats in Delhi in the coming Lok Sabha elections after witnessing the strength of the Congress workers in the convention of the Congress workers, organized by the Chandni Chowk District Congress Committee, at Lawn No 3, Ajmal Khan Park .

Working presidents of the DPCC Haroon Yusuf and Rajesh Lilothia also addressed the convention. The convention was organized by District Congress Committee president Mohd Usman. Former Chief Minister Dikshit was welcomed with a tri-colour flag and a mace (gada).

Addressing the convention, Dikshit said that it was a heavy responsibility on those who believe in the programmes and policies of the Congress party as their votes will decide what kind of a Government people want at the Centre in the due Lok Sabha elections.

She remained hopeful of garnering votes from the Congress workers and from lakhs of others who reside in Delhi and have faith in the party. She said that the Congress party functions effectively on the strength of the workers who are the backbone of the party.

On this occasion, Dikshit appealed to the Congress workers and the people of Delhi to remember the previous Congress Government and dethrone the AAP Government in Delhi and the BJP MPs from the Capital.

"In the last Lok Sabha elections, Narendra Modi befooled people with false promises like Rs 15 lakh will be deposited in the account of each bank account holder and lakhs of employment will be provided to the unemployed people and these promises have proved to be hollow," said Dikshit. She said that the BJP Government ruined the country with demonetisation and with the implementation of GST, traders endured severe blows.
