Will sort out farmers' woes by Diwali: GNIDA CEO

Greater Noida: Keeping with the promises and truce, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) on Monday said that they have begun distributing 6-10 per cent developed plots to Greater Noida farmers.
"We are trying to sort out the farmers' grievances on the top priority. As of now, farmers were facing issues in the allotment of 6-10 per cent population plots, following which we have started the allotment procedure. In the first phase 2,353 plots have been allotted out of the total 4,598 plots. This will benefit the farmers of 17 villages across Greater Noida," said Debashish Panda, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), GNIDA.
"We are also planning to make the allotment of the rest 2,231 plots very soon. These plots will be given to farmers of 24 villages. For this, we have fixed to allot 1,000 plots by September 5 and the allotment of rest will also be done before Diwali. We want to ensure a great Diwali to the affected farmers who have been fighting for their rights since past several years," added Panda.
The authority has also provided the details of developed land allotment on their official website. This is for the first time that the authority has allotted such a bulk number of developed or 'abadi' plots to the farmers. The move will set the pace for the settlement between the warring farmers and the Authority, who have been sitting on dharnas demanding better compensation and rehabilitation benefits.
Speaking on the settlement menu, the CEO said, "We are trying to make all possible efforts to deliver the 64 per cent additional compensation to the farmers within next two months. Apart from this, we are focused more on the development of the villages. In order to bring transparency and accountability, the work undertaken in the villages will be put on the authority's official website".
Addressing the pertaining home buyer's issues, the GNIDA said that they are working to precipitate completion certificates for 27 group housing projects in the city as the developers have submitted their applications for the issuance of completion certificate (CC) to their projects.
"27 builders have applied for the completion certificates. Out of these, 4 CC will be given in this week and rest will be given soon. Apart from these, 52 builders have applied for reschedulement under project settlement policy (PSP). Seventeen out of 52 have paid pending amount on August 15 and are ready to proceed with speedy work. Thirty five of these 52 builders have asked for more time but have simultaneously assured that by September 30, they will deposit all money," said the CEO.
The authority is aimed at providing completion certificates to about 13,000 units by September.
The CEO further said that out of a total of 203 housing projects in the Greater Noida, amelioration of 100 projects has already been attempted.
"We have called upon the developers of the critical housing units on August 25. A meeting will be held with them to discuss issues pertaining to each project, so that we can reach a solution. If they face any problem in bank loans or financing, authority is ready to assist them and ensure a cordial alliance between banks and builders. We have also asked the developers to submit their unit hand over plan to the authority," added Panda.
"We have received Rs 200 crore from the builders and are expecting to receive Rs 450 crore soon," the CEO said.
