Will go on indefinite fast if not given justice: Deceased's wife

Gurugram: Wife of the deceased property dealer and a prominent bookie Vijay Batra have warned the law enforcement officials that she will go on strike along with her children.

She affirmed that she will take this extreme action if the Gurugram police do not take a proactive step in catching her husband's murderers. The family claims that Kaushal gang is behind the murder of Vijay Batra. On Friday night, Vijay Batra famously known as Tantrik in the Gurugram betting circle, was driving in his SUV on busy Sohna road area when suddenly few unidentified assailants began firing gunshots at him.

After making sure that the bullets pierced through the body of the driver, the assailants fled from the spot. According to the sources in the police, the deceased had sustained bullets wound in his back and head.

It is believed that he succumbed on the spot. Batra in Gurugram was of one of the prominent bookies in the city.

He was a resident of Park View-1 society in Sohna Road. Co-incidentally the place where he was murdered was at a distance of just a few meters from his residence.

The men from the Kaushal gang according to the family got in touch with Batra last year and began asking for extortion money of Rs 25 lakh from

him. After his refusal to pay the amount he began receiving threatening messages from the gangster's men from November last year. The Gurugram police on its part have formed five teams to probe the case.
