Washington State's LG Cyrus Habib visits Delhi govt school

NEW DELHI: Washington State's LG Cyrus Habib on Thursday visited a Delhi Government School in Patparganj with Dy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia to get a glimpse of the educational reforms carried out in Delhi. Habib was elected as the Lieutenant Government of Washington state in 2016 at the age of 35 and is the youngest Presiding Officer in the USA.

At the school, he was briefed on the education reforms in Delhi government schools and observed the Happiness Class along with the Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.

Manish Sisodia who also holds the portfolio of education department explained to him that the work done by the Delhi Government over the last four years in strengthening the school infrastructure, revamping of teacher training and global exposure to principals, engagement with parents and community and focus on the learning of even the last child in the class has created an atmosphere that helped the introduction of Happiness Curriculum this year.

In the Happiness Class, students explained to him that they can now take their attention away from exam related and other stress and focus better on education.
