Wanted criminal with Rs 1 lakh bounty on head arrested
Greater Noida: The Gautam Buddh Nagar police along with a team of Special Task Force on Thursday arrested one of the most dreaded criminal of Greater Noida who was wanted in many cases of murder, extortion and loot in and around Delhi-NCR, said police.
Kulveer Bhati who was carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh, was arrested on Thursday afternoon from village Rithori in Dadri area with his another accomplice Virendra Bhati, the police said. A .30mm country made pistol, .32mm pistol, 7 cases of live ammunition and Rs 2100 in cash were recovered from the accused.
"In a joint operation carried out by the Gautam Buddh Nagar police along with a team of Western Special Task Force raided Rithori village and arrested two wanted criminals. Kulveer Bhati is a kingpin of Rithori gang and the gang was involved in activities such as illegal mining, extortion and illegal collection from contractors of peripheral expressway" said Love Kumar, senior superintendent of police, Gautam Buddh Nagar.
"During probe, the accused said that he along with his other gang members murdered Pratap Lekhpal, brother of another wanted criminal Sunder Bhati, in Sikandrabad area of Bulandshahr following a personal rivalry for which he was jailed in Delhi for nine months. Kulveer had also hatched a conspiracy with his gang members to kill his rival Chaman Bhati in Dadri area in 2012," added Kumar. Around 11 cases of murder, extortion, attempt to murder were filed against the accused in various police stations of Gautam Buddh Nagar, Ghaziabad districts.
