Wanted criminal held

NEW DELHI: A team of Special Staff of Rohini District, Delhi, arrested one criminal Rohit Chauhan who was wanted in a sensational kidnapping for ransom case of Alipur. A reward of Rs 25,000 on the arrest of accused was also declared.

On 29 August, an information was received by cops that a car driver along with his car was kidnapped from GTK Road near Singhu Border. A team consisting of staff of Alipur started searching the car. The vehicle was traced near Shiv Mandir, Bakhtawarpur. On seeing the police party, the abductors tried to flee.
"One of the abductors even fired shot towards the police party and fled away, while another pointed his pistol towards the police and the family members of the victim. Police had to fire at him," said DCP Rohini Rajneesh Gupta. After a chase, police was able to arrest two persons while other three managed to escape. Among these three persons, two persons were yet to be arrested. Rohit was arrested on January 3.
"Rohit Chauhan, is a resident of Gautam Budh Nagar Noida. He used to have a mobile shop in which he incurred losses. He was under heavy debt and wanted to recover. He along with his associates planned to kidnap businessman for demand of ransom," said the DCP. Mpost
