Wanted criminal arrested in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad: An accused carrying a reward of Rs 25,000 on his head has been arrested by Ghaziabad police on Sunday over a robbery of Rs 7 lakhs of heavy machines from a boiler factory at Muradnagar area of Ghaziabad.

During the robbery, the accused along with other accomplices, tied the hands of a security guard deputed there after which they robbed the machines from the factory on May 13.

Police have already arrested four person in connection with the case and have sent them to the Dasna jail.

According to police, the accused has been identified as Aslam alias Vapi, a resident of Sahibabad area of Ghaziabad.

"Police have arrested the accused from Arthla metro station on Sunday morning around 6am, after the information passed by an informer," police said.

Around 1 am on May 13, seven miscreants jumped inside the factory and took the security guard, Vikas Singh, hostage. They were heavily armed and reportedly assaulted the guard when he tried to resist.

They tied him down and later fled with several lids of boilers in a small van.

Neeraj Kumar Jadaun, Superintendent of police (Rural) told Millennium post that On May 18, police have arrested four persons in this regard.

"The accused have been identified as Mehbub alias Raja, a scrap dealer and a resident of Kaila Bhatta Village in Ghaziabad, Mousam Ali hailing from Niwari Village, Intezaar and Sehazaad alias Sona, both from Sahibabad area. The kingpin of gang Shoaib along with other two associates are absconding yet," he added.

"Shoaib, who is the kingpin of gang and Raja, a scrap dealer used to select factory setup in an isolated place to rob. Raja purchased all the items from them and then he used to sell all stolen items to Zuber another scrap dealer in Sahibabad on higher rates. Zuber is also absconding right now," Jadaun added.

"In this case, Raja purchased all stolen items from Shoaib on Rs 1.05 lakhs and then sold it to Zuber on Rs 1.5 lakhs. More things will come out after the arresting of Shoaib and Zuber," he added.

In the enquiry, the accused told police that they have also stolen valuables from a house in Parsvnath Regalia society, a high rise in Sahibabad area few months ago. Cops said, the accused sell the stolen items from the above society to Raja, scrap dealer. They have arrested, an FIR under IPC sections 395 (dacoity) and 397 (robbery or dacoity with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt) has been registered against them.
