Walled City street lights on during day: People take to social media
New Delhi: It's daylight versus street light in Old Delhi. Residents of the Walled city are furious over the wastage of electricity as the street lights in the various lanes and bylanes are kept on even during the day. The residents themselves clicked pictures of the street lights which are on during the daytime despite being ample light and posted it on social media. The residents feel that due to the negligence of the agencies, the streetlights are left open that amounts to wastage of electricity that could otherwise be saved.
"What are various MCD counsellors doing, can't they see the lights on during the daytime? Why the electricity is wasted in this callous manner, there has to be accountability and responsibility," said Irtiza Qureshi, a local resident of the Walled city.
The locals of the area have been working for the cleanliness of the area for the past some time, it was then the streetlights caught their attention which was left open all day and night.
