Vijender Gupta urges LG to accept demands of LSCs

New Delhi: Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta on Thursday urged the Lieutenant Governor to accept two genuine and long pending demands from owners and occupants of local shopping complexes (LSCs)/commercial-cum-Residential complexes.
The first demand was for reduction in conversion charges, while the second was for regularisation/increase of floor area ratio (FAR) from 180 to 300 per cent to bring LSCs at par with other commercial markets.
The Leader of Opposition said that DDA vide notification dated December 28, 2017, notified reduced rates of conversion charges for use of upper residential floors of various markets, viz Sarojini Nagar Market, Khan Market, Green Park Extension Market etc. to commercial use from Rs 89,000 to Rs 22,274.
The BJP leader also said it is essential now to revisit the issue of less FAR, in case of LSCs and commercial-cum-residential complexes.
Most markets have been granted 300 per cent FAR, but LSCs continue to have 180 per cent FAR.
