Vijay Dev likely to be appointed as new Chief Secy of Delhi

NEW DELHI: Senior IAS officer Vijay Dev is likely to be appointed as new Chief Secretary of Delhi Government as additional Charge. 87 AGMUT cadre IAS Officer Dev is presently working as Chief Electoral Office of Delhi for second times.

Last Saturday, Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash was transferred by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to Telecommunication Ministry as Additional Secretary.

In July 2018, the Centre had appointed two senior IAS officers as additional Secretary - Anindo Majumdar and Manoj Parida, who are 1985 and 1986 batch officers of the AGMUT cadre respectively. The First Time in Delhi government two additional Chief Secretaries was designated. Incumbent additional Chief Secretary of Delhi Manoj Parida, a 86 batch IAS officer, is working as PWD and Home Principal Secretary in Delhi government. It is expected that Parida will be transferred to the Centre very shortly.

Another Additional Chief Secretary Arindo Majumdar, 1985 cadre, has been transferred to member of CVC. Vijay Dev has served at various post such as Delhi Transport Commissioner, Delhi Food and Civil Supplies and Divisional Commissioner etc.

Since the inception of AAP government, Delhi has to face a bureaucratic crisis in administration, as at least six Chief Secretaries have been changed such as DM Spolia, S K Srivastava, MM Kuti, Naresh Negi and KK Sharma.
