Vicious pit bull attacks 12-yr-old boy in Uttam Nagar

NEW DELHI: A pit bull dog viciously attacked a 12-year-old boy and injured three other people in Uttam Nagar area of west Delhi.
Delhi Police on Monday said that the incident occurred around 4 pm on March 28 and was completely recorded on a CCTV camera installed in the locality.
The CCTV footage showed the pit bull ferociously attacking a group of boys and later zeroing down on one of them.
The boy is seen trying to save himself unsuccessfully from the dog. It took some time for the residents to act to save the boy. The clip shows a woman rushing to help the boy and hitting the dog with a stick. Some other men also joined in and tried to pull the dog away by attacking it with a chair.
The footage also shows the dog hurting the woman and later running towards another group of boys behind a car standing nearby.
Two bike-borne men are also seen stopping their vehicle to see the attack, but when the pitbull ran towards them, they sped away. Sources said the boy was immediately taken to the Deen Dayal Upadhaya Hospital and later discahrged after treatment.
The police said that the family of the victim boy did not file a police complaint and the matter was amicably resolved between them and the owners of the dog. Sources said that the pit bull belonged to a local man, identified as Tony, who is lodged in jail presently on charges of dealing drugs.
