Venkaiah Naidu unveils wall mural of Mahatma Gandhi at NDMC headquarters

New Delhi: "I am delighted to be present here to unveil 150 sq meter wall mural of father of the nation, Mahtma Gandhi, which is made of terracotta kullads. The image is a true reflection of Gandhi Ji's belief in the potential of craftsmanship and village industries." This had been remarked by Vice President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu speaking after unveiling the grand wall mural of Mahatma Gandhi on the wall of NDMC Headquarter on Thursday on the 150th Birth Anniversary year of Mahatma Gandhi as a symbol of cultural integrity and unity of the nation.

Naidu said that the image of Mahatma Gandhi had been made in mural by using 3,870 kullads of the soil received across the nation and the entire artwork was a great tribute to Gandhi ji with the quote of Gandhi - "My Life is my Message". And this message would definitely be spread from the heart of Capital city of the nation.

Meenakashi Lekhi said that truth and non-violence are positive, meaningful and dynamic and Gandhiji combined it with a sense of responsibility for the welfare of people. His whole life was his experiment with truth and this mural would spread the message of his experiment of life, she said.

Chairman, NDMC Naresh Kumar said that it was really a matter of great privilege and honor to the NDMC that a grand wall mural of Mahatma Gandhi had been installed at the building NDMC Headquarter to commemorate his 150th Birth Anniversary year of Mahatma Gandhi as a symbol of our national cultural integrity and unity of nation. And he hoped that it would help to generation to come to follow the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi.
