V K Singh files his nomination paper from Ghaziabad LS seat
Ghaziabad: With the last date for filing nominations for the lok Sabha polls in Ghaziabad, Minister of States for External Affairs, Retired General V K Singh, on Monday filed, his nomination as a candidate of Bhartiya Janta Party for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls from Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad constituency. Other that Singh, candidates of Samajwadi and Congress party also filed their nominations.
On Monday morning, Singh was accompanied by four MLAs, Nand Kishor Gujjar-MLA Loni, Ajeet Pal Singh-MLA Muradnagar, Sunil Sharma-MLA Sahibabad and Atul Garg-MLA Ghaziabad. Ghaziabad Mayor Asha sharma also joined hands with Singh during his nominations along with hundreds of supporters and party members.
After filing his nominations, Singh said that his biggest competitor is he himself while his agenda for upcoming elections will be development.
"I am thankful to the government for believing in me once again. We will carry on with the same agenda of development and growth as we had put up in 2014," said Singh.
Apart from Singh, Samajwadi Party candidate Sanjay Bansal also filed his nomination on Monday along with several party members.
Speaking on the occasion, Bansal said that employment and farmer's issues will be kept on priority while those poor families who are not receiving benefits of government run scheme will be given priority and will help them receive the benefits.
Dolly sharma, lok sabha candidate from congress party also filed her nominations on Monday. Sharma highlighted that her focus will be on better education and health facilities in the district.
While the last date for the filing of nominations was on March 25, scrutiny will take place on March 26 and the last date of withdrawal of nominations has been fixed on March 28. Polls for lok sabha elections in Ghaziabad district are scheduled in the first phase to be held on April 11.
