UPSIDC, GDA carry out sealing drives in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad: In two separate sealing drives carried out in the district, the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDC) sealed two banquet halls while the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) sealed 80 houses from unauthorised possession holders.
On Friday morning, UPSIDC carried out the drive, following dismissal of stay orders by the Allahabad High Court. The banquet halls, both located in Sahibabad area, were sealed in the presence of senior Ghaziabad administration and police officials.
"The land was issued for industrial development purpose, but the firm had illegally constructed banquet halls there, following which notices issued in the past. The high court also dismissed their plea to seek stay and a drive to seal the property was carried out," said Smita Singh, Regional Director, UPSIDC.
In the second drive against unauthorised possession over property, GDA on Friday vacated around 80 flats from persons who had unauthorised possession of flats under the Kanshiram Urban Poor Housing Scheme.
"Seven unauthorised possession holders were warned to vacate the flats. GDA officers have locked and sealed all such vacated flats," said SK Sinha, Executive Engineer of zone-3.
