UP CM lays foundation stone for pilgrim house

Ghaziabad: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on his visit to Ghaziabad, on Thursday officially laid the foundation stone of Kailash Mansarovar Pilgrim House project at Indirapuram. The house will benefit those who want to start their holy trip to Kailash Mansarovar and Kanwad Yatra.
On the occasion, Adityanath, addressing a public rally, said "Uttar Pradesh has a vast potential to grow tourism in the state. The pilgrim house will boost tourism and we have found Ghaziabad an appropriate place to initiate the pilgrimage. Being close to the national capital, the house will help the Hindus from all over the world to start their holy trip to Kailash Mansarovar".
Adressing the public, he added, "The pilgrim house will cost Rs 93 crore to the state. It will provide shelter to over 500 pilgrims. Amid several controversies, we went ahead with our decision and purchased a new land for the project in Indirapuram area for Rs 50 crore and an estimated cost of Rs 43 crore will be added for the construction."
Earlier the site which was chosen for the construction of the pilgrim house was in Arthala, which was changed to Indirapuram, just two days before Chief Minister's visit due to concerns of suitability of land as it was found marked as a lake and flood plains of the Hindon River in revenue records.
Tight security was put in place across Ghaziabad for the Chief Minister's visit, the symbolic function was held in Kavi Nagar area of Ghaziabad. A massive crowd throng into the rally comprising of all ages.
"We are also focused to fulfill the PM Narendra Modi led government's promise to create a Ramayan Circuit in Awadh. Also, we will develop Garh Mukteswar as a place where a Kumbh Mela can take place," the CM said.
