Unnatural offences: In over 300 cases, cops nabbed 350 accused in two yrs

New Delhi: More than 350 accused involved in unnatural offences were arrested from 2016 to 2018.
Police claimed that more than 300 cases were registered with city police in the same period.
The data accessed by Millennium Post regarding cases filed under section 377 (unnatural offences) of the Indian Penal Code claims that in 2016, around 163 persons were arrested whereas 171 persons were nabbed in 2017.
The current year witnessed the arrest of 25 accused till March 15. The data further claimed that in 2016 around 182 cases were reported whereas more than 150 cases were reported in 2017.
It was in 2017 that a minor boy on his way to school was waylaid and sexually assaulted allegedly by four juveniles and then they inflicted blade injuries on him in North West Delhi's Bhalswa Dairy.
The victim lives in Mukundpur with his family and is a student of Class IX.
On the day of the incident, he was going to school when he was stopped by the juveniles.
It is alleged that they caught hold of him and carried him to a nearby empty house.
There, they allegedly sodomised him and when he resisted they dealt a few blows on him.
In January this year, three juveniles were apprehended for their involvement in sodomisation in Dwarka district area. Police claimed that the incident was reported from the parents to the minor victim.
The first month of 2018 witnessed more than 250 cases related to crime against women (CAW) in the national Capital. The Delhi Police claimed that it has arrested more than 290 accused in different cases.
