Uber driver held for abusing woman in Ggn

Gurugram: The Gurugram Police has arrested the Uber cab driver after he was booked for abusing and threatening a woman professional on Wednesday.
The police has charged the driver, identified as Jumran, under sections of 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (act intended to insult the modesty of the women) of the Indian Penal Code.
According to police, in her formal complaint the woman professional who works in a corporate house had alleged of misbehaviour and indecency by the Uber driver after she cancelled the cab booking to attend the birthday party of her friend at Sector-15.
At first, the woman cancelled the booking as she found the conduct of the driver to be suspicious.
After cancelling the booking with the driver, the complainant again called the cab aggregator service to book a new driver but again the call was received by the same driver Jumran which she again cancelled.
The driver then called her after five minutes and started abusing and also threatened her.
Soon after the incident she immediately informed police on phone.
"The complainant had revealed her ordeal on phone and told her to file her complaint at the police station in writing. We have arrested the driver based on the complaint, said Gaurav Phogat, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Sushant Lok Police Station.
