Two youths drown in Yamuna river

New Delhi: Two youths died after they drowned in Yamuna river in North Delhi's Timarpur on Monday. Police claimed that deceased were identified as Manoj and Varun who lived in Timarpur area. Police claimed that they received a PCR call in the evening the team rushed to the spot. The investigation has revealed that both the victim went deep inside the river and were unable to rescue themselves from the flow of the water which resulted in their drowning.

One of their friends Pratik survived the incident as he did not go far inside the river. Police suspect that they went to take bath when the incident took place. With the help of divers, the victims were fished out from the river and were declared dead in hospital.

It is not the first kind of incident as four minor boys drowned in Yamuna river in August. Police claimed that seven kids from the same locality visited the spot in the morning and four of them went inside the canal but due to the depth of river they were unable to save themselves and drowned.
