Two women among 22 Delhi Police personnel awarded

New Delhi: Twenty-two Delhi Police personnel including two women, have been conferred Police Medal for their services. Three have been awarded Police Medal for Gallantry, two for President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service and 17 for Police Medal for meritorious service on the occasion of Republic Day 2018. Those chosen for Police Medal for Gallantary are ACP Attar Singh, Inspector Rajinder Kumar and Inspector Ravinder Kumar Tyagi.
The two police officers chosen for President's medal for distinguished service are Kamal Kant Vyas, Additional CP and ACP Surender Kumar Dahiya. As many as 17 police officers have been chosen for Police medal for meritorious service are Rajveer Singh Chauhan (DCP), Asif Mohd. Ali ( DCP), Sanjay Bhatia (DCP), Dinesh Kumar Gupta (DCP), Varsha Sharma (Addl DCP), Shashi Bala ( ACP) , Inspector Som Nath Paruthi, Inspector Sandeep Malhotra , Inspector Raj Kumar, Inspector Krishan Prakash, Inspector Suresh Maskeen, ASI Jitender Dogra, HC (Exe.) Kishan Chand, HC (Exe) Dev Kumar, HC (Exe) Subhash Kumar, HC (Exe) Ranbir Singh, HC (Exe) Satish Kumar.
The two women have also been chosen for the awards– one of them is Addiitional DCP Varsha Sharma, the Officer has an impeccable and meritorious 21 years of service record. As ACP, she has worked as SDPO Karol Bagh, Parliament Street, Hauz Khas, Vasant Vihar and successfully worked out sensational heinous cases in a highly professional manner. Sensitive issues of demolitions, security arrangements at vital installations, General Assembly Elections, Student Union polls were effectively supervised by her.
Another woman officer who has been chosen for the awards is ACP Shashi Bala. She has been awarded 21 Commendations for her excellent performance during the duties assigned to her ranging from Law and Order arrangements for religious and national festivals, etc.
