Two Thak Thak gang members arrested from RK Puram

New Delhi: The south-west district police busted a Thak-Thak gang from RK Puram area on December 7. Police claimed that the catapult and five steel balls, which was used by the gang for breaking window panes of the car, were recovered. Police identified th accused as Arun Kumar (24) and Vinod (34), both accused had come in the park near Sector 4, R K Puram to sell stolen items when they were nabbed.

During interrogation, ten stolen mobiles, one laptop, artificial jewellery were also recovered.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (south-west) Devender Arya claimed that the accused used to target cars with bags kept on seats and break glass with the help of a catapult and then, another person named Rinku used to run away after taking the bag. They targeted crowded road near markets and sell stolen items to Vinod. Vinod used to provide his own scooty at a daily rent of Rs 1000 for committing these thefts.

The Delhi Police press statement claimed that Vinod in 2003 started selling fake stamp papers and got caught in 2004 by CBI in an FIR relating to Telgi scam.

He also got arrested in a case of rape. He formed his own Thak Thak gang after coming out of jail and started renting out his own scooty to persons of this gang for committing the crime.

"Concerned authorities have been informed regarding the arrest of accused persons. Efforts are being made to effect more recoveries and the absconding," said DCP Arya.
