Two Thak-Thak criminals who targeted property dealer held

New Delhi: A property dealer became the victim of infamous Thak Thak gang in South Delhi on October 16.

Police have arrested both the culprits and recovered 70 lakh rupees from their possession. Police said that the accused used to roam around various traffic signals in search of a car having luggage or purse kept in the back seat.

After finding such vehicle, both the accused followed the car on their bike and later flee away with the items.

Police identified the accused as Abhinav (22) and Sandeep (19). Deputy Commissioner of Police (south) Atul Kumar Thakur said that on October 16 the property dealer when he was travelling with his driver from Panchsheel flyover towards Shahpur Jat, suddenly two boys came on a motorcycle and pointed out the complainant towards a malfunction in his vehicle. "Immediately, the driver stopped the car and checked but nothing was found. Meanwhile, one person informed the complainant that someone had stolen two bags from his car," said DCP South.

He further added that the complainant checked the vehicle and later reported that his briefcase containing documents and another bag containing cash Rs 1 lakh, jewellery items worth Rs. two lakh approx. and another Rs. 50,000 of assorted foreign currency was missing.

The team of Special Staff under Inspector Prafull Jha started their investigation.

"We got a CCTV footage in which the suspects were seen in the silver colour Bullet motorcycle. After searching more than 60 Bullet motorcycles finally, the team succeeded in identifying one of the accused as Abhinav who had a silver motorcycle," an officer said.

A raid was conducted and both of them were arrested from South Delhi.
