Two shootouts in broad daylight in Ggn, 1 dead

Gurugram: In a brazen display of lawlessness in the Millennium City, two shootouts were reported from Bilaspur and Badshahpur areas of the city on Sunday.
While the victim in the Bilaspur shooting incident, identified as Sanjay Gurjar succumbed to his bullet wounds, the victim in the Badshahpur attack survived the attack and is presently receiving treatment.
Police said that Gujjar, a former village head of Kharkhari in Bilaspur, had on Sunday morning gone for a walk, when a few unidentified assailants fired 12 rounds of gun shots at him from close range.
After making sure that the bullets pierced through his body, the bike borne assailants fled the spot.
Gurjar was immediately admitted to a private hospital in the city, but the massive loss of blood led to his death in a few hours.
Gurugram Police have registered a case under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and have begun their investigations.
There have been no arrests made in the case so far.
"We have begun our investigations and trying to find vital leads. Mostly, these cases of occur because of the rivalry between two groups.
"We are having a word with the victim's family members and friends to know if he had any enmity with someone," said Inspector Arun Kumar, station house officer, Bilaspur police station on Sunday.
In the Badshahpur shootout, the police have registered the case under section 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC and are waiting for the victim to regain fitness, so that his statement can be recorded.
As of now, there have been no arrests in this case either.
Incidents of shootout in the busy streets of Gurugram is not a new phenomenon.
In a worrying trend, these brazen incidents are not only reported from the outskirts of the city, but even in densely populated areas, such as MG road, Sohna road, Jharsa road and Sector-9A.
In the past, dreaded gangsters, gangster's spouse, realtors and former journalists have been eliminated by their rivals by means of shootouts.
