Two run over by train in outer Delhi's Mundka
NEW DELHI: Two persons including a woman died after they were hit by a train in outer Delhi's Mundka on late Saturday evening while they were crossing a railway line
According to police, the deceased persons were walking on the railway tracks when they noticed goods train approaching them.
As the train neared them, the deceased man noticed the train and tried to dodge it by jumping onto the adjacent track.
Unfortunately, his bid to avoid the train went in vain and he fell on the adjacent track.
The woman tried to get him up and escape the spot, but could not do so on time.
Another train on the adjacent track was arriving at full speed and hit the two, killing them instantly. Police said that they have ruled out the possibility of this being a case of suicide.
"They were not wearing any headphone, as some reports claimed," said DCP (Railway) Perwez Ahmed.
Police said that the deceased were identified as Aman Malik (19) and Alisha (22).
Aman was a resident of outer Delhi's Karala area, while Alisha was a resident of Trinagar.
Police said that they were both taken to a hospital nearby, where their post-mortem was conducted.
