Two Nigerians held for trafficking cocaine

Two Nigerians have been arrested from Uttam Nagar for trafficking 492 grams of high quality cocaine worth Rs 2 crore in the international market, police said on Friday. The accused have been identified as Kennedy Dominic and Anayo Godswill.

According to police, the accused Godswill had also rented a house in Uttam Nagar, on an Indian woman's name, and had used the residence for drug trafficking. Further, the money made from drug trafficking was used to invest in exporting Indian sarees to Nigeria.

According to a senior police official, secret information was received by the Crime Branch that Kennedy, a resident of Uttam Nagar, was involved in supplying cocaine to Delhi-based residents.

When the information was developed, it was found that Dominic would come near Som Bazar Chowk in Uttam Nagar to supply a batch of Cocaine for a buyer. Acting on the input, a team from the Narcotics Cell was deputed to the spot. Upon identification of the accused, the team apprehended Domincia with 210 grams of fine quality Cocaine.

When he was questioned, he told the investigators that he had procured the drugs from Anayo.

The team later identified Anayo's house and raided his premises and apprehended him with 282 grams of cocaine.

"During interrogation, it was revealed that Anayo Godswill had come to India eight years ago and began a live-in relationship with an Indian woman and moved in with her to her Uttam Nagar residence. The money he earned from the sale of drug was invested by him in exporting Indian sarees to Nigeria, where his elder brother runs a garment shop," said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch), Rajesh Deo.
