Two nabbed for killing woman at Salarpur village in Noida

Noida: The Gautam Buddh Nagar police on Sunday said that they have arrested two persons in connection with the murder of 28- year-old Kanchan who was said to be shot dead by a bike-borne masked female assailant in Salarpur area of sector 107, Noida in broad daylight on August 16.
There was no involvement of a woman in the murder incident. Instead one of the assailants impersonated himself as a woman to kill his disaffected lover Kanchan, said police.
The accused have been identified as Ranjeet (38) and Ashish(21) who hail from Kanpur district. Ranjeet had shot dead the lady by covering his face with a scarf and wearing a dress of a woman. Ashish drove the bike to help him flee away after the murder incident.
According to police, Kanchan had been separated from her husband two years after her marriage in 2009. She came into contact with Ranjeet with whom she had a live-in relationship in Kanpur where the accused worked as a cable operator.
Last year, she decided to leave him and shifted to a flat in Sai Baba colony in Salarpur with a third person named Kunal, also a native of Kanpur.
"Annoyed over her for ditching him and getting herself engaged into a new relationship with another man, Ranjit decided to take a revenge," said Arun Kumar Singh, Superintendent of police, Noida.
