Two men killed, one injured in road accident

NEW DELHI: Two persons died, while one person was left seriously injured, early Monday morning when the motorcycle they were on was reportedly hit by an unidentified vehicle in outer Delhi's Alipur.
The deceased have been identified as Suraj Keshri, 32, and Rahul, while the injured person has been identified as Lachhu, who is reportedly in his early 20's. The victims were spotted by a passerby who alerted police about the incident.
As there are no CCTV cameras at the spot of accident, police are having trouble identifying the offending vehicle.
Police said around 4 am, a PCR call was received about the accident at Shani Mandir traffic signal at Alipur. A police team found that the injured had been rushed to the hospital, where Suraj and Rahul were declared dead, while Lachhu had been admitted to the ICU.
Police said that during the investigation, a motorcycle was found at the spot. "They were coming from the border towards at National Highway-1 and were hit by an unknown vehicle. All were residents of Chirag Delhi. A case has been registered at Alipur police station," a police official said.
Sources claimed that police have not yet been able to construct a detailed sequence of events. Police are yet to get the statement of the survivor. However, they believe that Lachchu could be a resident of Jahangirpuri.
Police suspect that the three youth were returning from Murthal after having dinner in the wee hours of Monday."We are investigating the case from all angles, after which we can come up with a conclusion," police said.
Based on preliminary investigation, police suspect that the trio might have consumed alcohol and were driving in a heavily inebriated condition.
The victims were identified through their identification cards.
Cops are now on the hunt of for the vehicle that hit the motorcycle of the victims.
