Two members of Sandeep Mental gang arrested for revenge killing

New Delhi: Special Cell of Delhi Police on Monday claimed that they have arrested a youth and apprehended one juvenile who shot woman six times to death in Dwarka's Pochanpur area.

The accused suspected that the deceased had instigated another gangster to kill Sandeep alias Mental in Dwarka area.

Meanwhile, police claimed that the main conspirator was the Mental's brother Sonu. The accused identified as Kapil Malik (18) and his associate, who is a juvenile in conflict with the law. "One of the accused was minor at the time of the incident. Later he turned 18," police said.

"On December 10, the woman was shot dead by two armed men. In the year 2004, the woman along with her brother killed her own husband," police added.

After coming out of the jail, she developed the friendship with Rajiv who is presently on interim bail in a double murder case of his rival gangster Sandeep alias Mental and Pawan.

A team under the supervision of ACP Attar Singh nabbed both the accused near Paschim Vihar West Metro Station.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Pramod Kushwaha stated that accused disclosed that Sonu, brother of Sandeep had directed them to kill members of the rival group to settle scores with Monu Pochanpur as he had murdered his brother on May 2.

"For this purpose, Sonu, Kapil Malik, Neeraj and JCL gathered at Najafgarh area in the morning of December 10. As per the plan hatched by Sonu, they reached near the house of the deceased in Pochanpur Dwarka," said DCP.

He further claimed that Kapil and Sonu, wearing helmets, went inside the house of the woman and found her sitting on the sofa. Both of them shot more than six bullets in her. She was taken to hospital but couldn't survive. After this, all the four persons fled away from the spot.

During interrogation, it has also been revealed that Rajiv and Sandeep were partners in the construction business and real estate and especially dealt in sale and purchase of disputed properties. Rajiv along with his associates then shot dead Sandeep and Pawan as they wanted to usurp the whole money derived from the sale of flats. "Sonu, suspected that Kamlesh had instigated Rajiv to kill his brother so as to usurp all the flats and other properties," said DCP.

Sonu, in order to avenge the killing of his brother, lured Kapil, Neeraj and JCL to kill members of Rajiv group.

"For this purpose, they went to Dwarka Court several times to kill Rajiv in police custody when he was being escorted for production in the court," police further added. But due to heavy police presence, they did not attempt to execute their plan. Finally, they killed Kamlesh Sehrawat in her house, to teach Rajiv a lesson.
