Two members of Lala gang arrested after brief shootout

Gurugram: Barely two days after a shootout took place in the Millennium City between police and criminals, another exchange of fire took place in Bajghera village near Palam Vihar area of Gurugram, resulting in the arrested of two gangsters.
During Thursday night's shootout, Gurugram Police successful apprehended two members of the notorious Lala gang, which has been involved in crimes like extortion and burglaries.
Using the modus operandi that was also used to capture gangster Narender alias Tillu last week, police acted on a tip-off and placed barricades at the Bajghera area late Thursday night.
On seeing the policemen, the accused shot at them, leading to the cops retaliating in kind. Eventually, the accused were overpowered and arrested.
"It is a major achievement and we hope that with the arrest of these criminals, there will be a reduction in the crime rate," said a senior Gurugram police official.
In November last year, Gurugram police, along with Jharkhand police, had successfully arrested Akhilesh Singh, a dreaded gangster from Jharkhand.
He was taken into custody after a brief shootout in Gurugram's residential area of Sushant Lok.
